I agree with what you are saying about how you walk away from the capital one commercials. At least in the warrior commercials, capital one saves the day. In the Spade version, our chubby personas end up getting slapped upside the head for even thinking of useing capital one.

Do I like the David Spade commercials.
NO!

I absolutely LOVE the ads David Spade has been doing for Capitol One... especially the most recent one....it is SO very funny. David has a way about him that makes these ads stand out and get noticed! No other actor can quite do it like he can! Now does anyone know WHERE i can voice my opinion on these specific ads that would count toward keeping them coming on the air? Thanks, Elena April 6, 2005

Posted by: Kel | Apr 8, 2005 11:18:39 PM

Thank you, Kel, for finally putting this mystery to rest.

Nate is the best part of those commercials. He outshines David in my opinion. Nate totally rocks!

I have been trying to find the name of this very funny young actor. I hope Nate Torrence gets his own show. I love his loud laughter and his whole funny attitude in the commercials I've seen him in.

I agree, he is a great actor and deserves his own show. I actually know him and this is pretty much how he is. Always goofing around and making people laugh. He used to do a three man ensemble, with his older brother Jay and a friend, Josh. They were known as corn, beef, and cabbage. Very funny. Great guys.

What is the name of the song? the "Nono no nono no nonono"?
Posted by: Joey | Jun 3, 2005 11:36:53 AM
agreed. nate torrence rules. check him out on friendster!
Posted by: kdogg | Jun 17, 2005 11:53:29 AM
Kdogg, How do you "check him out on friendster"? I searched under his name and didn't get anything. I laugh every time I see Nate Torrence...He is not just funny, but he has a quality that makes him unforgetable. I hope his agent gets him into a sitcom that uses his talents! How about making him Joey's newest friend? Joey was looking for a friend last season....

Anyone know who does the voiceover near the end of the commercials? It sounds so familiar to me but my husband insists it's no one we know. Thanks.

There is a newer Capital One commercial, where David Spade pretends to be Nate "ooh I'm shaking in my bright yellow shirt" and this big guy comes in the door to kill "ooh I'm shaking in my bright yellow shirt." Is the big guy coming in the door, yelling, "Puddy" from Seinfeld?
Posted by: Need Help In MO | Aug 15, 2005 10:42:12 PM
My friend and I are having an arguement over the new Capital One commercial where
David Spade pretends to be Nate. Is the big guy at the end Puddy? I say yes they say no.
Posted by: jodi | Aug 23, 2005 2:34:46 PM
sorry to tell you jodi .... you are wrong it is not him. looks like your friend is very smart.
Posted by: bob | Aug 23, 2005 2:38:49 PM
To answer the song question for Joey, it's NOBODY BUT ME by the Human Beinz... top 10 hit in early 1968, band was a one-hit wonder from Cleveland (I think); you can probably find it on a lot of 60s/frat rock/party rock compilation CDs.

I hope Nate Torrence gets his own show also....I went to school with Nate. He has always been very funny and a clown. It's cool to see him on tv doing what he loves..being funny!!
Posted by: Tracie | Aug 31, 2005 6:28:48 PM
Of course it is Puddy, hasn't your friend
ever seen Seinfeld?

Nate's a funny funny man. For anyone around LA, he's doing a one man show tomorrow (September 8 & 9).

I also went to school with Nate...before he moved in high school. He went to Homecoming with my big sis, and my whole famliy loves him. He is not only hilarious, but he is a great guy too. I wish him all the luck in the world!

Nate lived up the hill from us and in grade school he and my son used to make hilareous videos...he was honing his skills even then. Wonderful guy from a wonderful family. We all get excited when his ads come on...can't wait till he gets his own show!

Does anyone know the name of the post production firm doing these commercials?
Posted by: Chris | Sep 28, 2005 4:13:59 PM
I absolutely love the Capital One commercials with Nate Torrence....he is hilarious!! David Spade is well known, but Nate really does make those commercials the greatest. I laugh so hard every time I see one. I especially like the newest one where Spade has the voodoo doll of Nate, and when he has him cracking his rear, I laugh to tears.....keep up the great work Nate....your awesome!

nate and i were friends since we were little. he is such a trip! he will be a superstar someday for his comedic personality and talent!
can't wait to see him on the big screen!

in a world where we are glued to the tv to keep up with all the serious events of the day, it's terrific to see commercials that lighten things up and make you laugh!
keep up the good work!

OK, I just think Nate is really hot, to say the least. Of course most likely straight. Damn

I love the commercials. I have a boss just like Him.. always saying "No" Where can I find that bobble head that just says no????
Posted by: Deanna | Oct 5, 2005 6:24:46 PM
I know Nate Torrence. He is from Canton,Ohio where i currently am living.Early on before he moved out to LA, Nate and his brother had a traveling comedic act called "Corned Beef and Cabbage".It was comprised of skits that they wrote. There was a set list for all their skits. The audience would yell out a number and they would quickly change costumes and proceed. It was awesome. Nate better get a show soon or ill come out there and beat up david Spade for not hooking him up.

Has anyone noticed that near the end of the voodoo doll commercial when Nate is spinning around in the air and says "I should've worked at Capital One!" He sounds a lot like the voice of Chris Griffin from the Family Guy. I know it's not him(it's Seth Green) but it really is uncanny.
Posted by: Eric | Oct 8, 2005 8:22:55 PM
In the cereal commercial that Nate did...was that his real father behind the wheel? He looked like and older Nate.

The commercials by Capital One are disgusting and I will never deal with this company again
Posted by: van | Oct 28, 2005 4:38:33 PM
I loooooooooooove Nate! Love the commercial with him in the yellow shirt, but I haven't seen it for a long time. Have they taken it off the air? Big mistake. Capital One commercials are the only ones I watch and don't change the channel.

What School did Nate go to in Canton, Ohio and how long did he live there?
When did he graduate?
Didn't Marilyn Manson and Macy Gray both grow up in cantn Ohio?
Must be the water! LOL

Nate is terrific in those commercials. I just love them! Always catches my attention because of him. HOWEVER!! I have a question.... WHO is "Brenda"?!! In the commercial where he says "I hear sometimes you say yes..." HELP! She looks so familiar to me. Can anyone help?! Thanks so much!!

Does anyone know where I can download the Spade Capital One commercials? Funny they are...
Posted by: Craig | Nov 5, 2005 11:33:04 PM
David Spade's trainee works at bank of america, sf office. david spade is actually a female, and the real life "no's" are even better than the ones in those commercials.

Actually I heard Nate was from Canton. And actually Marilyn Manson went to my high school for several years before graduating from a Christian school in the area.
My dad loves the Capital One commercial and was so happy to find out he was from Canton. How fun!

Nate Torrence went to high school at Hiland High School in Berlin, Ohio. Right in the heart of Amish country! I was there!

Is Nate Torrence married? I think he is awesome.

Who is the girl who throws the coffee in the latest ad?

i love the capital 1 commercials... David Spade is so funny
Posted by: kat | Nov 21, 2005 10:52:31 PM
On the "Shaking in my Bright Yellow Shirt" commercial, that is not Patrick Warburton (Puddy from Seinfeld) chasing after Nate. I swear that guy looks like Batista from the WWE. Also, I swear the voice-over guy sounds like Al Michaels.
Posted by: Jeffrey Morgan | Nov 24, 2005 1:23:09 AM
Nate Torrence is married.

Does anyone know if Nate Torrence's dad is an actor? My friend thinks he is the man who played Nate's father in a Golden Graham ad. Any truth?
Posted by: Paula | Nov 26, 2005 7:07:20 PM
No his father is not an actor.

I also went to high school with him and always was a big fan of his, he was so much fun! I got a senior picture from him with a note on the back. Now I only wish I could find it!! Figures. Good luck Nate, I wish you all the best!
