Viral marketing 101

ChickenIf you want to learn more about viral advertising, here’s a great place to go for a good, lengthy compendium of viral campaigns: this post on the blog Fimoculous.com, written by Reg Sorgatz.

It’s not all here, but a lot of it is: Burger King’s subservient chicken, the online mystery that was created around the movie A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, and even a few fake viral marketing efforts, like the suicide bomber commercial that looked like it was from Volkswagen. There’s also a link to an interview Rex did on the subject last weekend on National Public Radio, which is fun to listen to. (But not as much fun as making the subservient chicken play air guitar.)

Thanks for passing it along, Rex.
