Where vegans fear to tread

Steak_1PETA, look away. DDB in San Francisco has created a new campaign for KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce, using the celebratory tag, “Here’s to meat.” For the print work, the agency used the famed Hatch Show Print shop in Nashville, Tenn., the foremost experts in making old-fashioned-looking posters using metal and wood type. The ads look like antique carnival posters and are all about being pro-meat. In addition to the one shown here, dissing lobster forks, another ad in the series takes aim at vegetables, with copy that reads, “Broccoli would be better if it were made of meat and slathered in sauce.” Score one for the anti-P.C. crowd.
