Hives of activity around ‘Loser’

LoserTomorrow night is the premiere of the second season of The Biggest Loser on NBC. And speaking of big losers, more than 5,000 people got to see the episode a few days early at Biggest Loser house parties around the country on Saturday night, organized by NBC and House Party Inc. The idea is to manufacture word of mouth interest in the show. House Party president Parker Reilly explains: “The hosts and guests use our customized site to plan and organize their event, then it turns into a hive of activity.” The hosts got “party kits,” including show-branded yoga mats, towels and dry-erase boards, jump ropes and set of yoga straps, plus magazine subscriptions and trial gym memberships. We’re sure the resulting buzz about the episode will reach us any minute now.
