Ewww! People are drinking dog drool
Dog Drool soda. There’s a company in Connecticut that’s making a soda called Dog Drool. Mind you, according to this story in the Boston Herald, the soda doesn’t taste like dog drool, nor does the company's Swamp Juice soda taste like swamp juice, nor does Toxic Slime soda taste like … well, you get the drift. But despite the nausea-inducing names, the company, Avery’s Beverages, said it has sold 400 cases of what it’s calling the “sodasgusting” flavors since July. The inspiration—if it’s even appropriate to call it that—came when a child visiting the factory mixed together the company’s existing soda flavors, which include strawberry and kiwi, to create the “inky-green” drink that came to be known as Swamp Juice. That creation led to the birth of Dog Drool, described as “a whitish pink-hued drink made from orange and lemon” and Toxic Slime, described as “a light-blue soda combining … “ Well, we could go on—but in the name of taste, let’s not. This just seemed like important marketing information we needed to pass along.
