Gene Simmons is officially the competition

Gene_kissThe news that Gene Simmons is starting a marketing company with actual clients really makes us want to indulge in puns about kissing up. But we'll refrain. And it doesn't look like he'll be particularly good at sucking up anyway. In an interview in Forbes.com (free registration required), the Kiss frontman, asked how he got his first client, the Indy Racing League, said he told them their logo “sucked.”

And the lesson here? Just tell the client his "___________" sucks... and oh, also be an aging rocker that the old white guy CEO always wanted to be when he grew up.

Makes me want to puke.

I'm with ya snake, and I seem to hate this use of power by actors and singers more and more.

Maybe it's just jealousy...but what qualifies him to market a company? What qualifies an actor to be a governor?

At least stand on your own two feet. Even Gene's 'marketing company' has 2 links to KISS...did he do all their marketing? I doubt it.

Now maybe his partner Abramson has some credits to him, I don't know...and if so maybe Gene is just the spokesperson.

Who's next?

Well, actually, yeah, he was the mastermind behind the KISS phenomenon. Not to say he couldn't theoretically take that marketing saavy and translate it to other clients, but judging by that "I am Indy" jingle-thing, I don't think he has a clue of how to do it.
