This just in: People like funny virals

WhoopiecushionCan it be true? A viral-marketing survey by Sharpe Partners reveals that people like comedy. Some 88 percent of respondents said they have forwarded jokes or cartoons to friends. Coming in second was news, with 56 percent saying they’ve passed along such material. Another interesting finding: The most likely person to share content—and share it widely—is a woman in her late 30s to early 40s living in the South or the Midwest. Who is this person?

Knowing several midwestern women in this age group, they do tend to flood my inbox with forwarded messages. Unfortunately it isn't quick witted jokes or interesting video, it's of the hug-a-gram or Jesus-is-thinking-of-you variety. If I get one more "ways-to-protect-your-daughters-from-men-waiting to-hurt-them-in-parking-garage" e-mails again, I'll be the one doing the hurting.
