Just because this dude may be gay does not make him defective, despite his image. It's his dubious "talent" for singing and performing that makes him defective. Any nitwit should be able to see through his marketing machine to that. This group should be fined for:
a) forming
b) being stupid enough to be fans of clay aiken

I'm a little confused on the consumer harm they're claiming. Were they expecting to be able to, er, consume? Were ALL nINE expecting that Surely, even if he were straight, -and- even if he were to marry one, the other eight would be SOL.

I read recently that 38% of the American public are relying on winning the lottery for their retirement money. Given that, it wouldn't doesn't me that these women expected to hook up with Mr. Aiken at some point.

I plan on suing Clay just for the fact that I hate him so much.

Did I sue when Melissa Etheridge came out of the closet? NO! It just makes me want her more.
BTW, my retirement plans hinge on either my lottery investments paying off or a sudden death.

"BTW, my retirement plans hinge on either my lottery investments paying off or a sudden death."
Really? Mine hinge on convincing a billionaire industrialist to leave me all his money after he dies.

RCA and BMG/Sony should be commended for launching such a successful marketing campaign that they actually convinced nine people that he wasn't gay. That's a tough sell.

Can I sue Clay for giving gays a bad name? Seriously.
Posted by: Andrew | Feb 28, 2006 5:44:16 PM
Any idiot could have seen that clay was gay from the beginning. They are just mad because they are only finding out.

WTF?
Posted by: realist | Mar 2, 2006 12:19:17 AM
Wow. If I were that fucking stupid and horrible, I'd sue someone, too.

Oh, and they should be prosecuted under hate crime laws for calling him "defective" just cause he's got a thing for sausage. Seriously, what dumbasses. Maybe they qualify for honorary Darwin Awards for their gaydar alone.

It's about time that
Clay
Ricky Martin
Ryan Seacrest
should ALL come out already.
Sheesh!
Posted by: StopHiding | Mar 16, 2006 5:52:20 AM
and Tom Cruise
seriously!

Well - having read the article - if anyone needs to be brought to task it is the tabloid - it seems to promise that Clay would address the rumors of his being gay which he never addresses directly but says nothing which the tabloid stretches to fill a couple of pages. He never admits or denies and leaves it still in the realm of journalistic speculation. The paper should be sued by Clay and his fans for sparking such banal misdirected attention.

Why come out when by being non committal you get more publicity from the ever curious wanting to fan the flames so to speak? Get real, it is not about sex anyway is it? Oh I forgot this is advertising we are talking about everyone is going to be f'd at somepoint.

No winners here. Ladies you were never duped. But I am not interested in you anyway. You would never have had a chance to have a relationship with me. For the other gaydar inquisitors, Is it a crime to be sensitive and caring and soft spoken and still be a male? Is it somehow more masculine to be rough and thoughtless and treat women with disrespect?
Guess I break the XY code. So for those of you who need definitive answers.
I am not now, never have been Gay. I am a bit curious why you want so desperately to know though?

I think Clay Aiken and Elijah Wood would make a cute couple.

So - let me get this straight - what all of these women were claiming is that, basically, they were only buying Clay Aiken's records because they were sexually attracted to him.
If I were that shallow, I think I'd keep my mouth shut.
