Here's the latest on Firefox Flicks
Last time we checked into the marketing for Firefox, the Web browser's peculiarly passionate user base was busy sending in video testimonials that we're guessing only the converted could truly love. (Great browser, certainly ... but it's not as though it does your laundry on the side.) Now, the company is conducting an actual ad contest, complete with a creative brief that asks participants to "create a 30-second ad, in any style (live action or animated), that brings Firefox to life for the millions of users who have yet to discover Firefox and the better experience it delivers." The contest launched in late December, so you may have missed the initial announcement, but there's still two months to go before it ends—entries have to be submitted by March 31. Here’s a link to the Firefox Flicks blog. Judges include Scott Goodson (pictured here) of that agency we like to call StrawberryFrogFish, McG, director of the Charlie's Angels movies, and Freddy Rodriguez, who played the über-talented mortician on Six Feet Under. Uh, on that note, death to bad ads.
