Nicole Richie set to bathe New Yorkers in Diet Dr Pepper

NicolerichieFor New Yorkers who already despise Valentine’s Day, here’s more bad news: We’ve just heard that Nicole Richie will be leading an army of Cadbury Schweppes drones on Tuesday in handing out free samples of Diet Dr Pepper all across the city. We’re all for “falling in love with great taste,” as the press release puts it, but we don’t get where this “Hollywood sweetheart” (also from the press release) fits in. A brand manager at the company says he wants to emphasize that “there’s nothing diet about Diet Dr Pepper.” If you don’t want people thinking “diet,” why hire a skeleton? Unfortunately, there’s no map available of Ms. Richie’s route, so you’ll all just have to fend for yourselves.

She shouldn't have more than two fluid ounces. Too much carbonation and she'll float away.

this brand manager should be fired! how did they think she would the perfect faux-celebrity for this stunt? and to think they're paying her

Not a very astute choice by Cadbury Schweppes. A poster child for eating disorders promoting a diet beverage? I am troubled by the signal the company is sending to young women who feel pressure to be as thin as possible. An issue that is underscored by celebrity role models -- like Nicole Richie.

good one cadbury schweppes! didn't anyone think about the connection to her eating disorder that has been ALL over the news lately? the task of promoting this swill is about to get a lot harder.

A joke right? Diet Dr Pepper didn't really pick Nicole Richie, recently dumped by her boyfriend and anorexic, as their spokesperson for Valentines day? No brand could be that stupid!

I can only imagine the scene in the boardroom...
A late night at the office, bags of doritos and 2 liter Dr. Pepper bottles littered about, tensions high and deadlines looming. "The Olsen twins???," a young intern boldly puts forth. NO, NO, NO! the All Knowing Marketing Manager screams, spraying dark comets of sticky soda across the table. "They are practically OBESE! Doesn't anyone have any answers for me?!" Lindsey Lohan? NO WAY! She just got out of the hospital, you can even almost even see her theighs again. Nicole Richie?!! YES! The perfect choice! Tastful and deliciously anorexic!
When is the ad industry going to have its Jerry Maguire-like adjustment it so deparately needs?

This promotion is a great idea... Diet Dr Pepper is so yummy and Nicole Richie has shown great character as of late. No need to pull this one apart folks.

What "great character"?

This is a poor choice. She has no talent and she is extremely unhealthy.

Everyone needs to leave Nicole Ritchie alone. She is a person like everyone else. May I say a very hot and sexy little woman.
I watched her television show just to look at her pretty little face and cute little bootie. She turns me on so badly!!
