Oasis decides selling out isn't so bad

Oasis_1Oasis joins the ranks of actors and musicians "selling out," these days with a $2 million deal that allows AT&T to use their 1998 hit “All Around the World” in its ads. The deal is really only noteworthy because, as The Sun points out today, Noel Gallagher blasted White Stripes’ Jack White for writing jingles for Coke not too long ago. Could Oasis need the cash so badly that they’d risk being branded hypocrites? Hey, Oasis’ newest album, Don’t Believe the Truth is doing better than their last few outings, but it’s been a long while since the 1990s super group could claim they’re “bigger than The Beatles.”

Ah yes the good ole days when Noel thought that being the shiznit in England equated into being big worldwide.

Kylie Minogue is huge in Australia, but at least she's smart enough to not run around talking about how she's 'bigger than Olivia Newton John!'.

Or maybe that's a bad example...

No, the White Stripes' singer is Jack White. Jack Black is the actor. I do the same thing with Jack Nicholson and Jack Niclaus.

Shame on me. I've corrected the post above. Thanks!
