The world is just one big pillow fight

Pillow_fight_1Ever since I made fun of TBWA\Chiat\Day’s new Visa campaign for suggesting that pillow fights are “little universal truth moments,” I am suddenly seeing pillow fights everywhere. There was a big squishy pillow-fight orgy in San Francisco last week, and there was another in New York’s Union Square today. Apparently they’ve also happened in Toronto, Tel Aviv, Madrid and London. It’s almost as if Lee Clow, in his sandals and shorts, spoke again from on high. (“Yes, my children, there shall be pillow fights.”) Still, some people remain perplexed by the phenomenon. Says one MetaFilter commenter: “What’s the point of a pillow fight unless the girls are in teddies and nighties and other lacy lovelies?”
