Verizon fined for D.C. graffiti campaign
Sorry the visual of this Verizon ad isn’t so clear (still, thanks to DCist for the pic), but sidewalk graffiti campaigns aren’t exactly known for their durability and clarity. Anyway, the ad says, "Looking for Something? Find it in the . . . Verizon Yellow Pages." Late Friday, Verizon was fined for the effort because it fell outside the city’s advertising code, but since the fine totaled a whopping $1050, we somehow think—especially given the publicity the fine generated—the campaign was still a reasonable return on Verizon’s investment.
