Will they ever get up off the couch?

Couch_potato It makes you wonder why slothwear isn’t as popular an apparel category as activewear. In a survey conducted for AARP Bulletin of Americans age 18 and up, “Nearly half of those interviewed said they have been physically active for a year or longer”—which presumably means more than half have not been. Fielded by International Communications Research, the poll found 50 percent of non-exercisers blaming lack of time (i.e., the usual excuse) for their failure to work out. Let us salute the more imaginative 41 percent who said “bad weather hinders their exercise routine.” No doubt they’ll whip themselves into shape if the weather ever clears up.
