if i received eggs with these ads on them I would hurl the first half-dozen at the market where I bought them for even carrying food with marketing on it. The second half-dozen would be directed at CBS headquarters. First Katie Couric, now this. Good luck CBS.

I kind of think this is a neat idea. I mean, it's unusual, surprising, and people will look at it because they'll see it and think, "What is that on my egg?" Plus, people look at eggs they aren't even buying to make sure they aren't cracked.
And the puns? They're just sticking to the theme.

If, while checking for cracked eggs, I came across eggs with ads on them, not only would I not buy them, I would mistakenly drop the carton right there. It's a reprehensible idea and a pretty fair indication of why most advertising is universally hated. and generally bad. Moreover, it should be viewed as a deperate cry for help from an industry in distress.
