At a time like this, who could forget ‘Read My Lips’?

As you must know by now, yesterday was open mike night (or day) at the G8, only the two people who weren't in on the joke were President Bush and P.M. Tony Blair. (We heard somewhere that Bush's public utterance of that word that sounds a lot like Shi'ite was the top video online yesterday.) Anyway, the incident left us feeling nostalgic, not, as you might suspect, for other times when top politicians got caught in the open mike game, but for the "Read My Lips" video, a touching tribute—with Tony Blair in the role of Diana Ross and Dubya as Lionel Richie—of the relationship between Bush and Blair.

Its PRESIDENT Bush to you and the rest of you jackasses out there who have NO RESPECT, at all, anymore, for anyone. If you can do it better yourself, then why havent you been elected and why havent you taken yourself to the top... even if it is in your own little world of bullshit.

Uh, gosh mike, you sound just about as bright as Bush does... Do you have posters of him up on your wall?

Mike, our leaders work for us. They serve at our will. They answer to us. Not the other way around.
