Alabama tourism celebrates homegrown Idols

Alabamaidols We’ve written before about how all the winners of American Idol, so far, have come from the South. Some people think Cingular might have something to do with that. Alabama thinks it’s more about the stupendous natural talent of anyone lucky enough to be born there—people like Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice and Taylor Hicks. (Bice was Season 4’s runner-up, but still.) Taking advantage of whatever’s in the water down there, the state’s tourism people and ad agency Luckie & Company have created billboards that show Studdard, Bice and Hicks and a line that’s new for Alabama: “Where America finds its voice.” The ads will run in Alabama for four months, then move out of state, reports the AP. For the record, Kelly Clarkson is from Texas; Fantasia Barrino is from North Carolina; and Carrie Underwood was born in Oklahoma.

Note that they didn't put the artists you listed after "for the record..." It's smart advertising, YOU could learn from it.

I think in other states have better past times than voting on American Idol.
