New Ikea catalog ups the horndog quotient
Everyone’s talking about this photo today, from a new Ikea catalog, and whether someone Photoshopped a human penis onto the dog. Ikea says it’s the dog’s leg. Which it may be—if the dog lost its original leg and then agreed to be fitted with an experimental prosthetic. i don't see it. when i first read the post's title i thought it was something racy the people were doing. then i realized it was a family lounging. then i read where you (and others) think the dog has a human penis. maybe that's what you want to see. it's his leg.

I work as a prepress operator. That is definately Photoshopped. Yes, it is a human thingy, even though it is where the dog's leg should be.

Pmueller-Agreed. I'm a graphic designer, and it looks to me that this image has been photoshopped. The "chicken skin" imperfections around the flank of where the dog's knees oughta be looks like a dead giveaway. I'm guessing it's an inside joke that didn't get fixed before going to press. Remember what happened with Nokia and the Cat in the Fan...
At any rate, even if it's NOT a joke and it IS a trick of the eyes, it should have been retouched before being sent out. I think the whole ordeal's hilarious, especially the hard-core IKEA boosters posting Pro-IKEA sentiment on blogs, as if their beloved IKEA could never ever do such an awful awful thing.
Makes me glad I shop at EQ3.

Y'all need to get a LIFE. Its very clearly and obviously the dogs LEG, if you look closely (although glancing should be enough if you have an IQ over 30) you can see that the dog has dark markings on a light coat which only begin (if you stretch the imagination) to slightly resemble what was being suggested...

Any of you ever had a dog? Seems not. Or else you would be used to the looks of the raw hide bones. And wouldn't think of human penises when you see a rawhide bone in a picture (on top of that in a place where a dog has other things - the penis is somewhere else) and make fools out of yourselves.

A dog's leg doesn't bend like that! It's resting totally flush with the dog's stomach. I don't see how anyone can possibly think that's a dog's leg....it looks nothing like a leg!!!

The dogs knee bone is the penis head, and the shaft is the muscle. For you graphic designers who just didnt look good, the curve of the shadow on the dogs right side of his penis is CURVED cuz it is really his leg! AND YOU CAN TELL ITS FURRY. YES IT LOOKS A LOT LIKE A PENIS. MY dog sits on the bed with his legs scooched high sometimes. But usually his legs are extended and you really can see his penis! ANYWAYS ITS JUST HIS KNEE BONE AND MUSCLE TRICKING YOU STUPID GRAPHIC PEOPLE. IF it was photoshopped maybe they added a tad of shaddowing once they noticed the close resemblance.
