Smug little twit tried hard not to be smug

Long Yes, you’re sick of this story. But if you’re not, the Los Angeles Times has a big article for you about Justin Long, aka the Mac from the “Get a Mac” ads. In it, he blames Apple for pushing him to be less “subtle” with his acting. “Commercials are hard because you don’t have a lot to work with, but you have a lot to work against,” he says. “You don’t want to look silly and polished but still, you know, you’re selling something. We were fighting with the company people who didn’t want it to be too subtle, and I didn’t want to come off too smug. People who haven’t done commercials don’t appreciate how hard it is.” Also of note: There are apparently 20 more of these ads in the can, ensuring that everyone will be sick of them eventually. And this is the guy whose claim to fame is the cinematic masterpiece "Jeepers Creepers" and the genius that is "Dodgeball."

He truly sacrifices for his craft.
