» Consumers 1 - McDonald's from the fruits of imagination
You kind of knew this was coming. Less than a week after that bizarre, made-in-marketing-hell toy Hummer McDonald's Happy Meal kids promotion launched, it's being publicly mocked. A group called the Environmental Working Group has launched a site calle... [Read More]

There is more beef in one burrito than in 12 McDumbolds franchises.
Diabolical soy and worm beef substitutes help mcfatten your kids for the Mcslaughter.
Don't say you weren't McWarned.

There's more automotive engineering in one WWII jeep than in every Hummer ever imagined, but(T) I guess they had to super size Plymouths to haul 'Merkins super sized butts around.

McDonalds and Hummer make the perfect confluence of conspicuous consumption for those who don't care about the long-term costs.

Dont piss us off jack, you know we could come up and take whatever we wanted from you maple leafs.
America is the king, we wanted mid-east oil and we took it. How worthless is your sand oil, how about we would rather your wood than your oil?
Go make 10 cents a gallon on your lawnmower oil, we will use real crude and make real gas/petrolium products.
You should read up on how many agreements the US has in place to rape canada at every chance we get, and you idiots have it so bad you just dont care and are happy to just take your 30% of the pie and give us the rest under the guise of a tariff.

It is customary for us to surrender twice, being both French and Canadian.

Those are toy hummers and my kid loves 'em. Nothing wrong with that.

Anyone who eats at McDonalds doesn't give a hoot about the environment anyway, so why wouldn't McDonald's customers want to teach their kids that Hummers are just good, clean fun?
Not withstanding the fact that feeding your children food from McDonalds is about the worst thing you can do - think of what you're doing to the planet by supporting another meat-based company that pays for the destruction of the rainforests, pollution of our water systems and carelessly pays for the cruel slaughter of helpless beings second after second, hour after hour?
America is the king? Are you joking? Just give it a few years ... when all of this wastefulness and landfill excess you're creating, oil you're abusing, the enviroinment you're ignoring ... It won't last long. What happens when you run out of resources? What happens when you've screwed with Mother Nature so much that it'll take millions of years to repair the damage.
Oh that'll make america a GREAT place to live: polluted, cruel, ignorant and obese. Good job.

Regarding the opinion of Mr. Negri...
While I do not disagree with your sentiment in some regards, you are mistaken to assume that there is some sort of unmanageable refuse issue in the US. In plain english, there is more than enough landfill available for all the garbage we needlessly create in this country.
If you want to make an argument for conservation, try arguing against "recycling" programs that consume far more resources than they conserve. Maybe driving giant trucks around collecting plastic bottles to be taken to a plant that runs on fossil fuel for processing seems like a reasonable idea to some people. However, it is estimated that you could dispose of every glass & plastic recycleable generated for the next 100 years in a total landfill space of 30mi x 30mi.
And yes America would be better served in the long term by becoming a member of the world community. But this is not a bad country full of bad people.
So fuck yourself.

I'm an American and this country has been hijacked by corporate greed, with Bush the head cheerleader. I'm ashamed of these assholes who plunder and pillage whoever they want to. It's absolutely sickening. They stole the 2000 and 2004 elections and they're gonna do the same thing in November. There's no one to stop them either since they control the House, Senate and the Supreme Court. And people who drive around with 'Support The Troops' and 'W -The President' stickers on their cars make me want to puke. Bush has fucked up this country so much it'll be a miracle to repair all of his damage, not to mention the damage he's done to other countries, the hundreds of thousands of human beings he's slaughtered. FUCK YOU, America, is all I can say. The rest of the world should bring as much pain on our asses as possible. Other than that I don't know what to say.

The last I heard we all live in a free society and even though some people do not like the hummer, it is not illeagal to own one or play with a toy that emulates a hummer. Oh btw, Dirty Howie, you can kiss our American Ass. You forget, we the people are the USA government and we have the ability to change through your vote.

It amazes me the complete lack of thought that is on this board. Why do people pick on the Hummer? You know, the H2 and H3 may not have the best gas mileage around, but for Pete's sake, they're certainly not the worst. Why aren't folks going after full-sized vans? Why aren't they going after Chevy Suburbans or Lincoln Navigators? Where's the cry for the Ford Excursion? All I hear is Hummer.
It's not just Trucks, Vans, or SUV's either. There are many cars still on the road that (in my opinion) shouldn't even be allowed to run due to the huge amounts of white, black or blue smoke coming out of their tailpipes.
Y'all (yes, I'm from Texas), have it backwards. The H2 and H3's as I said aren't the greatest, but at least they exceed the clean air standards when they burn their fuel. You should be spending your time going after 70's and 80's vehicles still on the road that also guzzle gas and spew more pollutants into our atmosphere than any Hummer.
I actually plan on getting an H3 next year. Why? I like them and it's my choice. Besides, it gets just as good of gas mileage as my Ford F150 truck. Oh shocker, you mean a Hummer gets the same gas mileage as a pickup truck? Imagine that!

Last I looked this was supposed to be about toy hummers not Americans bashing Canada.
But since most of you are in this mood of being the all mighty American and saying you rape Canada every chance you get,
Consider this......
We have 10% of your Population and almost the same land mass yet you let us ship all our garbage there.
WHo's raping who? Dumb F..ks!

Umm... wow. I'm a Texan. I have friends from all over the world. People are people, regardless of residence. Personally, I like the entire Hummer line but I drive a Hyundai because I need the blend of fuel efficiency and room.
Meanwhile, while I don't personally care for McDonald's, they are a successful part of the free enterprise system in the US and world-wide. If you, as I, don't like the idea of what they market and how they market, then do as I do and vote with your dollars (pounds, marks, yen, rubles, yada yada yada) and your feet and go somewhere else.
The bashing simply removes any ligitimacy of any associate arguments (this left the realm of debate a long time ago!).
The same idea would apply to the vehicles involved as well as how they are powered, etc.
If this is too logical for the people who feel an inate need to bash, then bash me. I'm an easy target.

The Hummer still looks great, but mechanically it's a hold-out from a past era.
I suggest McDonalds chooses an eco-friendly electric racer if it wants an automotive connection.
