And you thought your office was backwards

Windowslive_1 Here’s a pair of comical ads (apparently from the U.K.) for Windows Live Messenger, formerly known as MSN Messenger, in which office drones communicate via carrier pigeon and messages in bottles. They may use smoke signals, too, although that would probably be a fire hazard. A third ad will launch next Monday.

Funny stuff. But c'mon...do we really need to sell email and instant messenging as "communication evolved?" Is this 1995?

While everyone knows about IMing these days, I think that most people still don't consider it a business tool. With the ability to attach files and use video conferencing, I think that they're trying to get the businessman to realize that technology they consider kids toys can be useful for other things.

And now that I've actually defended something from Microsoft, I'm going to go wash my mouth out with soap. (Although I did get a chuckle out of the spots).
