Lionsgate calls for blood in ‘Saw III’ posters

Saw3 Clients are often out for blood, but imagine how Tobin Bell felt when Lionsgate actually asked him for his. Apparently, the company wanted to make the marketing for its gorefest Saw III even more gruesome than the movie itself and asked the “star” (is he a star if we’ve never heard of him?) to contribute his own blood for a limited run of posters—to get the “deepest blood red” possible. The company’s trying to pass off the ploy as a charitable plan, saying that proceeds from the sale of the posters will go to the American Red Cross (though no one seems to have asked the Red Cross if they wouldn’t have preferred the pint of Bell’s blood in the first place). At least he wasn’t asked for three of his teeth. This whole enterprise does answer one question I’ve had for a while: what Angelina Jolie can do with that old vial of Billy Bob Thornton blood.

Does that strike anyone else immediately as unsanitary?
