She’s not a man, but she plays one on TV

Jbs Eureka! After hours of eye-straining, brain-bending research, I have found my favorite commercial on the face of the Earth. Better than the Geico ad where the geeky executive does the robot. Better than the Super Bowl spot where the monkey photocopies his butt. Better even than all those bizarre, out-of-context Japanese ads that are funny only because we don’t understand their culture. The link will lead you to 47 seconds of incontestable genius, in which a standard role-reversal gag is delivered with impeccable accuracy and comic timing. Not only do I want to buy the product, I want stock in the company. But be warned; like all worthwhile human efforts, this ad isn’t work safe.

I have seen this concept -- heck, practically this spot -- for at least three different advertisers in the last 12 months. The only thing this adds is boobs. Hardly breakthrough, hardly original.

Of course, it might do very well in the Minneapolis Show, the One Show and D&AD. I hear they're into "homages."

The only place this will do well is YouTube.

Not if it's got boobs...

no one said it was breakthrough or original. In fact, it's a "standard role reversal gag." But it's still funny.

Do you know what actress that is in the commercial? Because, as I mentioned on YouTube, it looks like Kristanna Loken.

(Yes, leave it to me to be the one looking at her *face*!)

Yawn.

It's sooo German. Like all those penis ads you see in Archive where the only thing clever is some uncircumcized Euro-penis staring at you.
