DraftFCB’s lions have mellowed out a bit

Lions We enjoyed the Taco Bell commercial with the lions during last night’s Super Bowl, and we do have to point out that it was done by DraftFCB, which seems to have learned its lesson on how to portray large cats in advertising. The one lion here may talk sexy to the other one, but that’s where, on-camera, it ends. A nice inside joke for the industry, perhaps. UPDATE: For those who still can't get enough of the Wal-Mart/DraftFCB/Julie Roehm/Aston Martin/Nobu 57/Cannes ad story, there's a full story in New York magazine this week.

Yeah, Taco Bell's the only one that got screwed in this ad.

This spot is nothing more than a rip off of the McDonald's Fish Filet spots from last year. Only in that spot they argued about how "Fish Filet" should be pronounced.

It still is a better application of lions in advertising than that last Draft/FCB effort...
