sorry you're underwhelmed, but "anatomy of a murder" has long been considered one of the very best posters. maybe you should do a little research before you hit the send button. that's what's so dumb about blogging.

I'm amazed I'm actually responding to that comment, but what's so "dumb" about someone's opinion that doesn't happen to agree with everyone else's?
And now you don't agree with the poster's opinion, so why don't you respond as to why you don't agree instead of calling him out for not agreeing with the world at large?
That's what's so great about blogging.

I notice the list has very few current offerings, or many since the 80's. And I love the pulpy style of many of those older posters which points out that today the movie poster is pretty superfluous compared to being able to see it in a magazine or the watch the trailer over and over on the internet. I still get intrigued by the posters and displays in the theaters when I go, but I haven't gone back to ask a manager for a poster in at least 10 years.

All of Adfreak underwhelms me. But I still come back hoping one day they will cover more noteworthy stories.

Jaws was an iconic poster as well.
Gotta love the Murray Hamilton movies!

Totally agree re: Endless Summer.
Great poster.

Everything about Endless Summer is great but that can't be from the early 1960s, can it?

THE GRADUATE anyone? The leg, the stocking, Hoffman's bewilderment? Number one of all time.

DIDN'T SAUL BASS DO THE SINATRA "MAN WITH"
POSTER....??
He seemed to do all the other preminger movies...not noted substance abuser...occasionally abused type.....
best poster i ever saw was for 3-D movie, Bwana Devil....
you walked past the theatre (The Valencia in Jamaica Queens) and a spear came flying out of the lobby attached to a rope or
something.....

I agree with Jaws and The Graduate. Other posters more worthy of that list are Blow-Up, Kill Bill, and even An Inconvenient Truth.
