Will Nike make a Marty McFly sneaker?

Back to the Future is back on people’s minds lately. We’ve got that DirecTV ad with Christopher Lloyd, which is OK, although the pitch gets a bit lost with all of Lloyd’s shouting. And now we’ve got The McFly Project, an online petition to get Nike to manufacture the futuristic sneakers worn by Michael J. Fox’s character, Marty McFly, in the second Back to the Future movie. The plea above was apparently put together by Robert Ryang, who did the spoof Shining movie trailer. They’re currently at 27,000 signatures and counting.

The McFly sneaker project is actually Al Cabino's pet project.
