30 Jack in the Box tacos should suffice

Stoner For those of you who celebrate 4/20 for reasons not involving a birthday or anniversary, here’s a special stoner spot for you: the notorious Jack in the Box ad from last year in which our hero sits there in his van in the drive-through, unable to order or even speak properly. (No doubt he has difficulty driving, too, but doesn’t seem to have killed anyone en route.) With the help of a dashboard Jack, he decides he’ll have 30 tacos, which should help ease what ails him. Several anti-drug groups protested the spot, to which Jack in the Box responded dryly: “Our goal with this ad was to suggest that our tacos are an affordable and delicious way to satisfy one’s appetite.”

I wrote about this ad over a year ago on my blog and it continues to get an avalanche of hits. I am amazed that it has not been pulled off the air. Portraying someone driving while stoned is not the work of a good corporate citizen.

I complained over a year ago, and have not , nor will not, eat at jack in the box again until it is removed. Maybe a few others doing the same thing might convince them we mean business.

Yeah right stoned people shouldn't drive because they drive too slow. The problem with impaired driving laws is that people are charged for verifiable impairments. There are things beside drugs and alcohol that are equallly bad, yaking on a cell phone, being awake for 36 hours or what Homer Simpson did once sending a fax and cooking and watching a movie.

If society was serious about getting rid of impaired driving it would make it more difficult and complicated to drive. For me the only objectable part of the add is the drive through. Drive through lanes are only available for motorized vehicles, no bicycles or pedestrains allowed. In drive through vehicles ae mainly idling.

But really, that is a somewhat true depiction of a Jack in the Box experience. Before they left the east coast, if you went to JITB late at night, you saw lots of people behaving like that. And yea, they probably shouldn't have been trying. I guess watching the ad brought back some funny memories for me!

i'm sure they'll miss you dudley do-right

the problem with that outlook is now some people are gonna read that and go smoke and drive out of spite... kinda defeats the purpose.
Just voice your opinion that you don't like drug users, we can make fun of your tight-assedness and we go on about watching dumb movies and eatin' our JITB tacos.

I dont see this commercial as "hey, smoke a joint get, REALLY high, get the munchies, and come see us at Jack in the Box....and order 30 tacos!!" some people need to RELAX and find more important things to blog about. I found this commercial HILLARIOUS and am really sad its not airing much lately. Now im thankfully humored that the guy is now asking for 99 tacos for 2 cents!! HAHHAHAHA!!!!!! And for your info i do not smoke weed dont dont get your panties in a bunch. I have a kinder son who has learning disorders and the state cut 50% of school funding and his occupational therapy is being cut so im going to go blog about that! Thanks.
