Bryan Ferry, still alive, loses advertising gig

Ferry And Don Imus thought he had it rough. Consider Bryan Ferry, ultra-suave frontman of ’70s glam band Roxy Music, who told some German magazine that he admired Nazi iconography and fashion (since when did jackboots make a comeback?), not to mention the works of Reich filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl, whose “music videos” favored Wagner and goose-stepping in Nuremberg. Marks & Spencer quickly ditched Ferry as its brand ambassador. The most shocking thing about the story is that the guy was still famous enough to do ads at all. Ah well, he’ll always have fond memories of dating Jerry Hall and the chance to catch “Love Is the Drug” on classic rock radio.

God he's aged.

He looks like a slightly younger Peter Gammons.

More than this, you know there's nothing.

Ferry's manager dismissed the protests as "absurd". "To take offence here is to confuse the aesthetic with the ideological," Steven Howard said. "To suggest that a certain appreciation of art and architecture that happens to be associated with the Nazi regime means condoning the actions of that regime is illogical."

Nice try, Howard. But I don't think it's gonna wash.

and let's not forget that if Jerry Hall had married him, she'd have been Jerry Ferry.

Honestly, I have to side with his manager here. There is a huge difference in appreciation for a cultures art and agreeing with their morals/actions.
For example, I'm a big fan of dada art, and I am in no way communist. I'm a right wing conservative.
