Run easy, and spell poorly, with Reebok

Reebok Spotted on the No. 6 train in (a very rainy) New York City by the eagle-eyed Scatter O’ Light blog. I wonder if the ads are spelled right on the R train. UPDATE: Here’s another execution, posted by Shedwa, urging New Yorkers to stop and smell the garbage.

.... Um, maybe too clever by half, but perhaps the dropped R was the point? That things done too quickly get done poorly?

It's non-NY-notions like these that are trying to turn our once fine City into cookiecutter-on-the-hudson.

Newflash: NYC is supposed to be fast, crazy, unpredictable. If that's not your bag, then don't go to NY, and don't try and change it.

It's not misspelled. It's written with a Brooklyn accent.

Yo, Vinnie, want some cawfee wit eveything? Fuggedaboutit!

If they were really leaving the R out on purpose, it was a mistake to do so. Here's another NY themed ad from the campaign where they highlight the lovely NYC garbage smell:

I agree that even if the misspelling was on purpose it's not a very good campaign. Why would you want to stop and smell the garbage? I don't think it's nearly as clever as they thought it would be.

Obviously Bozo was joking. It's clearly misspelled. Sloppy and bad. All those "NY-insider" campaigns always look to me more directed to tourist and people from somewhere else but New York.

maybe they're marketing to the uneducated community with this one

Stop taking yourselves so seriously NY. Relax and laugh a little. It's not 'all about you'... Reebok posted these in major cities all over the World. NY is the only one I've seen whining about it...

I just saw this ad on the subway this morning in another size and layout. The word 'everything' was spelled correctly in it. This one has got to be an unintentional mistake.
