Still marketing magic after all these years

Magic_2 Earvin “Magic” Johnson, who retired from the NBA in 1996, tops the list of all athletes, active or otherwise, sought after for marketing endorsements. Michael Jordan ranks third. There’s been some talk of remaking the classic McDonald’s “Nothin’ But Net” superstar-game-of-horse spot using contemporary players. That’s not a bad idea, but which commercial would get more attention: a new version with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, or a rematch between Jordan and Larry Bird, with Johnson getting in on the action? Only one of those spots would be magic.
