Pepsi spots keep Mauer and Damon waiting
Pepsi has a couple of new Major League Baseball ads out, with Johnny Damon and Joe Mauer getting stuck in limbo when a guy pauses the ball game to go get a Pepsi from the fridge. (See the ads on Pepsi’s Web site—click the arrow to the right of the video screen to enlarge.) They would work better as ads for a DVR, but the chit-chat is amusing. Damon even admits that he misses having long hair and a beard. “I think they still like that caveman look,” he says. True in advertising as well.

But, watching the Yankees score a run makes me want to jab sharp objects in my eyes...not grab a cola.
