Did you notice how all the business ends are poised atop McD's? Ominous brand implications there.

A far as churches go, they don't come much more sincere than Times Square Church, founded by the legendary David Wilkerson, a fire-breathing street preacher. But I'm sure even David knows that he fights a losing battle. The culture slides deeper into a Romanesque abyss and only a few will raise objection. Asses today. Full frontal in a year or two.
This ass ad has been blogged about everywhere - and it's only being blogged about because of its supposed "raciness." "Oooh - they showed ass - how revolutionary!"
Probably get an award. Just watch.
I can appreciate a nice ass, but I can also appreciate not wanting your kids to see it on their way to daycare.

I see your point there, Jetpacks. But it doesn't say much about this church if a few backsides (in Times Square, of all places) are all it takes to throw their religious mission under the bus.

This concept might have worked better as part of an anti-obesity campaign.

It's a little known fact that the church is backed by the toilet paper industry.

I don't doubt that their ministry will continue, David, and I'm pretty sure their objections are more perfunctory. They knew what they were getting into when they opened a church there in the 80s, when their mission was to minister to the junkies and whores of that area. They've done a good job of that, by many accounts.
Funny though, that now they find the peddling of flesh is no longer just at street level, but coming from big-ass agenices with big-ass budgets.
(Sorry - that was sort of tongue in cheek.)

Tongue in cheek! Ha!
Anyway, I don't expect them to close up shop any time soon, nor was I hoping that they would. But their language was a little hyperbolic, I thought.

The agency, however, who I'm sure promised the client that this billboard would get tons of press (the old-school version of "viral") must be thrilled by the good Reverand's comments.
As Jetpacks mentions, yours is not the first blog to highlight the ad.

This is just another typical example of the ultra-liberal religious nutcases who take their marching orders from the Kremlin. I love Ann Coulter and I think of her every night when I sleep in my parents' basement after a tough night of important video games.
