Robert De Niro is not selling cars, ok?
Funny old video here in which Robert De Niro politely declines a director’s request that he be “more energetic” in his delivery of a TV promo. “You don’t know what you’re talking about,” he says bluntly. De Niro has done American Express commercials, but it appears that automotive ads are off limits. |

Actually, early in his career DeNiro DID do a car ad. Something corny about coming back to the "old neighborhood" with his snappy new Dodge Dart or something.

The director is right. He looks bored and his delivery is so bad. Tribeca must suck, because he sure seems not that into it.

DeNiro is a bore and a hack. He's a one-trick pony acting-wise (psychos). He can't even play himself.

Pia Zadora and Unnamed:
You wouldn't be fit to lick DeNiro's shoes!
He has earned the right to say whatever to whomever in the biz...Which is not to say that he should, just that he has earned that right

Although he has created some amazing performances, there's never such thing as "earning the right" to be an asshole. And nowhere does that leason need to be learned more than in the advertising industry where creative people think they "earn" such permission.
