Most movies like this never made much sence to me. How the story was written determines the outcome and I haven't seen the movie yet. However I've seen movies with a simalar theme and they all turn out the same.
As I have said in the past, "Same show/movie just different people."
There seems to be nothing original anymore.

"I'm willing to bet you’ve never seen small piles of sand gathering on street corners."
---Let's see. 1. Sandstorms. 2. Wind. 3. No one removing the sand for 10 years. Conclusion: The desert takes over.

---Well, movies with happy endings, love stories, comedies with Jim Carrey, don't make much sense to me either. At least horror movies show that life is tough and you have to work very hard to survive. They're not fantasies like the one where Michael J. Fox starts in the mailroom and rises to the top very quickly. Those "family friendly" movies create unrealistic expectations while horror helps people deal with reality.
