Guinness hides its latest commercial online

London’s AMV BBDO is putting together a kind of treasure hunt for Guinness. Instead of launching the newest Guinness commercial on TV, it’s hiding it somewhere online. “To be the first to see the new ad you must solve a series of clues, codes and puzzles and piece together the new film,” says the agency. “But don’t expect it to be easy. As you know, it just wouldn’t be Guinness if the reward didn’t involve a little waiting.” It might be better if we had the chance to uncover a lifetime supply of Guinness rather than a new commercial, but it sounds intriguing nonetheless. The first clue is the video above, featuring a Mr. Juan Ramon.

Hunting for commercials? What fucking hubris.

i agree, i was foolishing "googling" juan ramon, and trying to come up with abstract connections to the ridiculous video clip, when i had to smack myself and wake up. WHY would i devote such time to a commercial. I realized that the treasure, if i found it, could be very very disappointing. Who cares about guinness? i went to there site, this stupid viral thing isnt even on their website to promote it. Who cares? I dont think they even care.

I'm so glad at least you two don't care. More fun for the rest of us who enjoy engaging their minds instead of sitting numbly in front of the boob tube. Why not make it interesting? Beats the hell out of another fucking Geico ad.
Oh, and p.s. viral means that it's not on their website to promote it... it means it was released in the wild, meant to catch on from person to person, link to link, email to email. If either of you two are in the advertising business, you'd better get your heads out of your asses.

Doesn't iChameleon do all the Guinness work for AMV? I like the Hands site. I'd be willing to check this one out, but where's the site?

oi agree wit copyranter. it's askin a bit much of the geniddle population to be huntin' around lookin for somethin' dat has no intrinsic value in the first place. sure it's only a promotional gimmick really, isn't it.

but havin' said dat, oi guess it's a case of live by the voiral sword, die by the voiral sword as we say in dublin. if the bleedin' thing is any good someone'll find it and it'll go voiral. if it's shite, it'll remain buried where it is.

jaysus it's a tough old game, what?
