Still one of the funniest guys on television
The business-traveling Holiday Inn doofuses, first seen annoying Joe Buck last summer, are back for an encore run in the baseball playoffs this year. The star of the show is Jerry Lambert, shown here, the guy who told his buddies to “bring it down a notch” when chatting with Buck in the hotel bar, who had no idea Cal Ripken played baseball (“Where was this now, in Jamaica?”), and who did a decent impression of the “magestic humpback whale, nature’s public speaker.” My favorite might be the commercial where he denies having fallen asleep in a tanning bed. See a bunch more of the ads here. We’re not sure what else Lambert is up to these days, though he did have a big role in the short-lived ABC series Sons & Daughters, which was canceled in April.
