The Batmobile of news-gathering vehicles

Starcar Who says newspapers are dead? Well, I have on numerous occasions, but North Carolina’s Shelby Star believes innovation is the key. Behold: the Star Car, a reportermobile complete with wireless laptops, wi-fi digital cameras, broadband routers, directional antennas and other stuff designed to get multimedia news online quickly. Of course, high-end cellphones can upload text and graphics, so why bother with an expensive car? It “looks cool,” says  Star publisher Skip Foster, noting its value as a marketing tool. For example, the car has appeared at high-school football games, no doubt inspiring the pep squad to subscribe. Does the thing have a bar? Most journalists I know would demand that such equipment come standard. Here at AdFreak, we have our own special method of getting around.
