The movie Santa doesn’t want you to see

Revbilly Most of adland frets about how rising gas prices and the collapse of the real estate bubble will curb consumer spending during the holiday season. But there is another danger: Rev. Billy’s Church of Stop Shopping. Super Size Me auteur Morgan Spurlock is featuring the Reverend in a new anti-consumerism documentary called What Would Jesus Buy? The billing is priceless: “The movie Santa doesn’t want you to see.” Rev. Billy, not surprisingly, turned up on public radio last week to promote his cause, which is really performance art. “We’re trying to save the holidays from the shopocalypse!” he preached.
