Who wouldn’t trust a toothy grin like that?

Weatherman Car dealers, long ridiculed and mistrusted, take a measure of revenge in TDA’s spots here and here for Stevinson Auto in Colorado. A TV meteorologist visits a classroom on career day to answer questions about his job. The impeccably smarmy “Storm” reveals what makes him a success: great teeth and “hair people can trust.” When one kid asks, “How do you know what the weather’s gonna be?” he replies, “Actually, I don’t. Neither do any of you.” He also removes his wedding ring when an attractive teacher passes by and, in an especially nice touch, demonstrates his “predictive” abilities by waving his hands in front of the chalkboard as though it were a radar map. The tag: “Trust all wheel drive. Not the weatherman.” It’s a fairly amusing and well-cast campaign, though given journalists’ rankings in recent polls on professional trust, you probably won’t take my word for it.
