Atari’s epic clash of ostrich and buzzard
I’m not quite sure where Atari was running this two-minute commercial for Joust back in the 1980s, but I am glad someone preserved it for posterity. This epilepsy-inducing feat of stop motion would have made Terry Gilliam proud. It truly captures the high drama of a video game “where buzzard men battle ostrich men.” Nothing I could say about this ad, though, beats this gem from the clip’s Youtube comments: “I would be mad if a bunch of people on birds just came out of my floor and jousted and recked my house.” Truer words never spoken.
