Rock posters don’t bring down the house

Many of the choices are puzzling in Billboard’s list of the 25 Best Rock Posters of All Time. We knew Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Zeppelin, and the Beatles would get in, because they always do when rock classics of any kind are listed, and there are the typical aging-hipster choices like Elvis Costello. But then you get crap like the Red Hot Chili Peppers poster, which looks like something Rob Zombie drew in his fourth-grade social studies notebook. Really, the only genuinely cool-looking posters here belong to Pennywise and—am I actually saying this—Tom Petty. Man, when you get served by the “Runnin’ Down a Dream” guy, it’s time to send your poster guys back to art school.
