Bot drinks may be laced with hallucinogens

Bot I thought the Vermont energy-efficiency spot with the cowboy light bulb would easily rank as the oddest animated TV commercial of the week. Who knew TDA would kick things into a new orbit with its campaign for Bot, a line of vitamin-fortified water for kids? The ads feature colorful, blobby characters that are like a cross between the Teletubbies and the kids from South Park. This 60-second spot had me hooked until the end, if only so I could figure out what the hell was being advertised. The last time TDA was called on for beverage ads, it hauled out dead bodies for Go Fast energy drink. This time, it’s content to slaughter viewers’ minds. The Denver Egotist has some Bot print work here, and you can see another Bot commercial here. Plus, if you dare, watch Donny Deutsch’s interview with the company’s founders here.

About that Vermont spot:

Little Bill has just evolved.

Stick these terms into google and the first hit will bring you to google books on page51 you will find out this was done well in the 50s and 60s and this is the idea evolving:

little bill electricity commonwealth edison

First they encouraged us to use and now to save each with it's own consequences. Create work in different sectors of the economy is the goal. People have to do something with their free time. The world is so amusing.

In communism they gave you multiple choice, a, b, or c how to do this. In capitalism we have advertising to encourage a, b, or c. Kinda. In the end:

a. Don't worry, be happy.
b. Or not over my dead body.
c. Don't give up without the fight.

adrants and adpulp both sited this.

i violated my lenten fasting twice this week to comment on advertising. Technically, this isn't really about advertising. It's about sharing knowledge and conservation of energy. Life is physics or the laws of conservation.

Who is the patron saint of physics? newton please help me. I choose: Maximilian Kolbe cause he studied math and physics and seems like a good guy. And he's Polish.

I don't comment on adrants anymore because their line length combined with their choice of typeface is too hard to read. My eyes are getting way, way, way too typography sensitive. And yes I am too lazy to adjust the width of my browser everytime. With Adpulp I violated my fasting yesterday. Now I'll shut up on thesse advertising blogs.
