Clinton and Obama: the PC and the Mac?

Clintonobama If you categorize everything in the world as either Mac or PC (and why not?), you’ll feel in sync with a New York Times article this week that declared Hillary Clinton a PC and Barack Obama a Mac. In part, these classifications derived from analysis of the candidates’ Web sites. We’re told barackobama.com is stylistically reminiscent of Apple’s iTunes site and of the Mac aesthetic more generally. The article is less specific in the connection it draws between hillaryclinton.com and PC style, though it does quote one Web-design expert as saying Clinton’s site is “more regal” while Obama’s is “more youthful.” While “regal” is not a quality one associates with a republic (as opposed to a monarchy), the article questions whether “aligning with the trendy Mac aesthetic is good politics.” After all, it notes, the Mac “is still a niche computer” in a PC-dominated world.

Hey, CNN...

Whatever happened to “fair & balanced” coverage of the Democratic & Republican primaries???

I'm an African American, Princeton educated woman who STRONGLY endorses Hillary Clinton…And because I’m somewhat of a “political junkie”, I’d done my homework on each presidential candidate (both Republican & Democrat), so I’d decided to support Senator Clinton several months ago. However, it seems as though the “media’s” shameless, sleazy, “tabloid like" coverage of the Democratic and Republican primaries has had a PROFOUND impact on these Presidential primaries. Thankfully, I’m not the only person who has noticed that the “media’s” coverage of the Democratic Primary is SEVERELY skewed, and clearly favors Barak Obama. To that end, I invite my fellow Americans to “cruise” through the blogs on CNN. You’ll observe that many other American’s are genuinely disgusted by CNN’s RAPTUROUS FASCINATION with the “Obama Phenomenon”….Check it out for yourselves…

MOREOVER, INSTEAD OF PROVIDNG AMERICANS WITH THE UNBIASED, CRITICAL INFORMATION THAT’S NEEDED TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS REGARDING EACH CANIDIATE’S QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PRESIDENCY, CNN & MSNBC, et. al . ARE ACTUALLY “MANIPULATED” THE OUTCOME OF THESE PRIMARIES. Moe specifically, I’ve noticed a great deal of “Clinton bashing”, as well as a great deal of “Obama worship”…

Needless to say, it’s genuinely disheartening to know that the “media” (i.e., CNN, MSNBC, et.al) can so easily manipulate those Americans that are either ill-informed or misinformed with distorted “60 SECOND SOUND BITES” and sensationalistic “YELLOW JOURNALISM”….

I've drunk the Apple cool-aid but not the Obama one yet. The last time the media was rallying so passionately after a cause we ended up with a 2-trillion dollar war.

Obama is younger. The comparison ends there.

I'm Mac user who supports Clinton. My brothers are PC users who support Obama.

Yes, this is the illusion that Obama is trying to create. There might be something in it if he had anything new to say, but he doesn't. All he does is copy her, and pretend like he is saying something new. It reminds me more of something I heard from a PC user when he heard I had a Mac. He asked me if it could run Windows. So, it's really the other way around. The republicans are PCs, Clinton is the Mac, and Obama is Windoze.

I'm a Mac user and a Hillary supporter. I'm appalled how the media constantly bashes Clinton. Let's hope that this will result in a backlash in her favour. Obama is not ready or deserving of the Presidency at this point in time. Sometimes "hip and trendy and cool" isn't enough - it's gotta work better, too.

The Times article went on to say that in a PC-Mac election, PC would win every state but Vermont. I just thought that was ironic considering VT is perhaps the only state where Apple won't ship an iPhone, and one of very few states that doesn't have a Mac retailer.

So does that make McCain a copy machine or something?

Im a web developer by trade and even before i saw this NY times article i made a conclusion that Hillary's website is actually better functioning, more user friendly and an overall better website. Some of the videos of Obama's site wouldn't even work. Then i see this article. Its disgusting how unbalanced the media is today. Specially a reputable publication like NYTIMES. I will definately be staying away from this site from now on.
