Little Bit o' Luck has big creepiness factor

The New York Lottery has launched a campaign in NYC that you'd practically have to leave town to avoid. It’s plastered all over the subways and is airing on the local TV networks, advertising the lottery’s Take 5 game—whose odds, apparently, are stacked so favorably toward the player that all you need is “a little bit o’ luck” to win. In the campaign, “Little Bit o’ Luck” comes to life as a short, balding dude with thick glasses, whose head is freakishly out of proportion to his body (a gimmick that’s becoming more popular in the wake of Elf Yourself) but who gets more than a little bit o’ love from the ladies. Comedian Brett Gelman reportedly plays the character, but may not be proud of that fact.

Not just in NYC. We have it upstate in Albany, too. On tv all the time, and now in the newspapers.

Nice! I thought I was the only one who hated these commercials. I don't know who does the ads for NY Lottery but they are almost always horrible. Years ago they used to be okay with the boxing announcer theme, but they killed that concept by doing it way too much. Anyway, NY Lottery consistently has the lamest commercials. This little bit of luck campaign is horrible.

Great ads are one that stick in your memory, this defineately does. It could only be creepy if you lack imagination & a sense of humor.

Yes, I think the ads are creepy, but more to point-- I just don't GET them?
There is this little guy whose name is, etc., and he is supposed to bring you luck? Huh? I just don't understand what he has to do with the Lottery or winning or anything.
