Baseball team planning Eliot Spitzer Night
Minor-league and non-league baseball may lack the glitz, glamour, network-TV exposure, and some of the HGH of the big leagues, but it makes up for it with goofy promotions referencing contemporary news scandals. Specifically, Georgia’s Macon Music of the independent South Coast League has announced “Eliot Spitzer Night.” Among the gimmicks: prizes for the 9th fan into the ballpark, as well as $1 off admission for New Yorkers, people named Eliot, Spitzer, or Kristen, and any fan who has ever resigned from anything. While the cost of buying every fan over 18 a hooker was prohibitive, and probably illegal in Georgia, the stadium will be wiretapped. Keep this in mind if you see Semi-Pro and scoff at the outlandish scene where Will Ferrell wrestles a bear for publicity.
