Blue Jays come out swinging in 2008 ads
Better baseball teams, it would seem, produce better ads. The Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers, both sub-.500 squads last season, grounded out to the pitcher with their 2008 ad salvos. The Toronto Blue Jays, meanwhile, who haven’t been in a World Series since the first Bush presidency but who had a (barely) winning record in the American League East last year, field a (somewhat) more pleasing campaign from the local office of Publicis. The three spots sausaged into the video above purport to show current Jays stars as kids some 20 years ago, when their baseball skills were already evident. Actually the Blue Jays played in (and won) the 1993 World Series. I don't think I have to remind you that Bill Clinton had already taken office by that time.

Jen, is it ALWAYS about Clinton w/ you? Stop living in the past! Sure, I miss The X-Files as much as the next guy. And yes, I very vaguely resemble David Duchovny. From that era. If he was ill that day. And I was standing in weak light ... wearing a David Duchovny mask. What about NAFTA? What about steroids and Barry Bonds? What about my lost youth? It's not as simple as you'd have us believe, Jen. Go Yanks!

At first I was very confused by your comment. Not only was that my first comment on this blog (which makes your ALWAYS statement totally off the mark), but I can't say I really care for Clinton - either of them, actually. All I was doing was pointing out a factual error in the original post.
But then I got to your Go Yanks at the end and the absurdity of your comment made all the sense in the world.
