Abercrombie & Fitch solidly behind Obama

Af When Barack Obama talks about change, is he referring to a change of clothes? Anyhow, the one clear winner in Tuesday night’s TV coverage of primary-election returns was Abercrombie & Fitch, which achieved a kind of product placement coup during the non-victory speech Barack Obama delivered. Naturally, the blogosphere is alight with theories, conspiratorial and otherwise, as to why three guys in A&F shirts were positioned so prominently behind the candidate.

Let everyone theorize. Here's the reality: regular, average, college kids (possibly jocks) that live in middle america like abercrombie and fitch. A&F's aspirational lifestyle with their advertising selling all american sexiness and naturalness speaks to them.

That's it. Everything we own and wear says something about who we are and how we want others to think of us.

You know automatically what type of person the person is by seeing them in A&F (whatever it means to you). We brand ourselves to categorize and identify. Simple as that.

Weird, because all these political scenes are carefully orchestrated.

Maybe Obama is going after the "you accidentally brushed against me in a bar so I'm going to kick your ass" vote.

I am a college student from Evansville and was at the rally tuesday and I was wondering the same thing DURING his speech. Haha sad thing that this will probably be the most publicity that our town gets for years.

I've worked in ad agencies and PR agencies and I am sure there is nothing accidental about that placement. Did you notice that they never covered their shirts with Obama signs even when everyone else was waving wildly? It will come out that those guys were paid to stand there, no doubt.

If three guys picked each other up before going out to a rally, and they saw the last guy wearing the same thing as the other two, the words "Dude, go change your shirt we look like twins" would have been uttered from their mouth immediately.

It's impossible for this to be by accident. They never seemed genuinely interested compared to everyone else.

I'm sure they will end up on a TV show soon with their real story.

First off...Those guys aren't your stereotypical meatheads that you are referring them as. They weren't paid for appearing in the background. They like to wear nice clothing. It's amazing how people try to come up with their own conclusions when they know nothing about the situation.
