Finally, a logo that’s happy to see you

Ogclogo It's not often that a logo this stolid and minimal inspires schoolboy chuckles, so you have to feel for the U.K.’s Office of Government Commerce. Tilt your head 90 degrees to the left to see why (or just click here). The recently redesigned mark seemed to be going smoothly until it was shown to the OGC staff, which is obviously filled with perverts. Surprisingly, an OGC spokesman responded with both sound logic and good humor when asked about the logo, telling The Register: “It is true that it caused a few titters among some staff when viewed on its side, but on consideration we concluded that the effect was generic to the particular combination of the letters ‘OGC’ and is not inappropriate to an organization that’s looking to have a firm grip on government spend.” Via YesButNoButYes.
