Kellogg's streetwear snaps, crackles, pops

Tony_2 Unless this is a joke (and apparently it's not), Kellogg's has come up with a line of cereal-themed urban clothing called Under the Hood. Because there’s nothing like an image of Tony the Tiger to give you street cred.

Have you walked down a street in NYC lately? This stuff (apparently unlicensed) is all over the place in shady shops. Usually blinged out *cringe*.

You can catch images of new age pop culture logos being repurposed everywhere. The creative, if not always tasteful, examples are give to us by the culture (please do not supplant an urban creative class with the term street they are not interchangeable) and have a unique if not authentic feel. For Kellogg to try to jump in the game is brave. Not smart but brave. I hope they have good counsel and tell the MBA's to take a back seat the creative folks because if it is a bout selling cereal the ROI might not be that GRRRREAT!

Someone doesn't remember Jermaine Dupree wearing Loonie Toones clothing... this is just an off shoot of that. Visit the dirty south, and then you will see donks tricked out.(car's with these brands on them.) It is not a joke, turns out, it is very real.

Ice Berg Clothing line that was popular amongst the hip-hop community a few years back sparked this trend, if it ever was one. I witnessed the Kellogg Phenomenon in Trenton back in April 2006 on my way to NYC.
