Billy Dee needed to resolve Colt 45 ad fuss

Colttales_2 Liquor ads in Philadelphia have come under fire for, can you imagine, being too appealing. The specific culprit is Colt 45, whose ads resemble graffiti and depict “comic book-style characters clutching bottles and cans of booze.” The slogan is the old-school “Works every time,” to which they’ve added: “Yo, enjoy our frosty malt beverages responsibly!” Parents are obviously fearful, noting how susceptible children are to bright colors and advocations of prudence. Some in the city are complaining that the ads are appearing in places not zoned for advertising or in neighborhoods like Fishtown, populated by people who apparently don’t need more encouragement to drink. Which is a fair point, really. Living in Philly is hard enough on its own.

The mommy group is called "SCRUB." The name alone annoys me. We do not live in a mommy and me world. There are swear words, cigarettes, boobies (not used for nursing), and debauchery on any given corner—and that goes triple for Fishtown. It's not some bored mommy's duty to "scrub" the world clean of it. Some of us want the swear words and booze, and—guess what—we vote too. Also, just like how kids are more prone to infection if you keep them in a bubble, they're more likely to turn out to be deviant assholes if you shield them from the real world.

The ads are:
1) graffiti and therefore blight. i'm TIRED of no-talent clwons trying to pretend graffiti is an art form. it shouldn't be on the walls in a residential neighborhood.
2) the ads are illegal and without permits. Therefore, they come down.
3) Stop putting down Fishtown. Sure, the neighborhood has its problems - but most Fishtowners are good, clean living people who shouldn't have to live around the corner from this crap. Stop being snobs.
4) The ads OBVIOUSLY targets children. Show me a 30-year old who likes those ads - I'll show you a person who drank too much Colt 45 as a teen.
5) Deviant asshole kids? Nice, pal. The kids in Fishtown have enought to overcome and avoid. I came came home from the movies tonight and saw 4 kids drinking on the corner at 1:15am. At 16 - have they been shielded too much or too little?
